Open to anyone interested in copyright protection.

※ Submissions must be in one of the following languages: Korean, Vietnamese, or English

※ Up to three entries per individual/team.

※ Teams can consist of up to five members, including the representative.

※ For Vietnamese teams, only one representative will be invited to Korea if they win the Excellence Award or above.

2. Originality: Novelty and originality of the idea, proposal content, and presentation method

Verification

Public plagiarism verification will be conducted on winning entries that are preliminarily selected to receive
excellence awards or higher in the first round of judging.

※ For works suspected of plagiarism, feedback and reference materials will be accepted.

Mentoring/
Networking

Date and time: 2024.08.19 (Mon) to 2024.08.20 (Tue)

Location: Seoul Tourism Plaza 4th Floor Multipurpose Hall

Instruction: 1 Korean participant 1 Vietnamese participant placing mentoring at off-line spots by teams
Numbers of gatherings: 4 times (4 mentors, 1 mentoring opportunity per mentor)

Important Notes

Submitted works must be original creations of the participants

-Works that have already been announced or awarded in other competitions, or works submitted under someone else's name, will be invalidated if plagiarism or copyright violations are discovered. All responsibility and liability in
case of disputes rest with the participants.

-Participants must ensure that their submitted works do not infringe on the copyrights or portrait rights of third
parties. If using third-party works, participants must obtain copyright transfer or usage permission from the third
party. Legal responsibility lies with the participants in case of disputes.

-AI-generated works are not recognized as winning entries. If it is later confirmed that a work was created by AI,
the award may be revoked.

Copyrights (economic and moral rights) for submitted works remain with the participants.

-However, the Korea Copyright Protection Agency may obtain a copyright transfer (including the right to create
derivative works) through a separate contract for the winning entries of the 2024 International Copyright
Protection Contest and may reproduce, distribute, and transmit them for non-profit and public purposes.

*The scope of the intellectual property rights that are the objects of a transfer: Reproduction right, performance
right, public transmission right, exhibition right, distribution right, rental right, secondary work writing right

*The purpose of the use: Usage purposes: Media reports, online publication, exhibition at various events, creation and distribution of publications (including e-books), production and distribution of promotional materials, and
other advertising uses

※If the winning works are used beyond the announced scope, permission will be obtained from the author.
-The contract details may be changed in the future after consultation with the winner.
-Participants are deemed to have granted permission for the use of their works within the scope of the usage methods and conditions upon submission, and the prize money serves as a compensation for the transfer of the
economic rights.

*Participants must actively cooperate if the organizers request documentation for copyright and usage rights
verification.

In case, when the applicant receives an entry, he or she demanded the return of an entry, the entry that did not win an award shall be returned to the applicant. Except, in case an additional cost that is related to the return takes
place, the applicant shall bear the burden.

In case an applicant does not make the demand for the return of an entry, it shall be a principle that the host
discards all of the entries that did not receive an award within 3 months from the day of the end of the contest.

Participants must provide accurate information in all application documents.

Works that do not comply with the format and specifications, works awarded in other contests, and works that
infringe on others' intellectual property rights will be excluded from judging.

-Compliance with related laws such as the Patent Act, Utility Model Act, Design Protection Act, Trademark Act, and Copyright Act is required. Issues arising later may result in award cancellation and prize money recovery.

If any of the following disqualifications are found, the award will be nullified, and awards will be canceled in case of
objections or plagiarism disputes, with the certificates and prize money reclaimed

-Violating public order or morals or not complying with the contest guidelines

-Disparaging religion, specific genders/groups, or infringing on human rights

-Winning or being recognized as plagiarized or imitated works in other domestic/international contests

-Legal disputes regarding patents, utility models, trademarks, design rights, and copyrights

-Submitting illegal documents

All costs for participating in the contest are borne by the participants.

Personal information (e.g., national ID, bank account) may be requested for prize disbursement, and prize money is
paid after deducting taxes.

All of the changes and the additional matters regarding the contest shall be notified in
the contest receipt site and the others.

The overall matters get managed according to the guidelines of the creative works contest of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and according to the internal policy of the Korea Copyright Protection Agency.
